Interactive Art Workshops
HAI’s Artists Will Supercharge Your Program With Participatory Arts Workshops
HAI has provided workshops to health and social service agencies for over 35 years. We’ll provide your facility with its very own artist-in-residence to facilitate highly interactive, and impactful, art-making experiences. We offer a wide range of different workshops to choose from including: visual arts, music, dance and movement, photography, media arts and more. Workshops series typically run for one year, but we can also arrange three and six month series depending on your needs.

HAI is New York City’s largest provider of discount seating for underserved audiences.
Hundreds of health and social service agencies work with HAI’s seasoned ticketing staff to provide high quality cultural experiences for their consumers and program staff. World class cultural performances include: Broadway and Off Broadway Theater, Dance, Sporting Events, HAI Produced shows and much more.

HAI can help transport your group to and from arts and cultural events and venues. Our bus has been specially designed to accommodate up to 9 wheelchairs and 11 ambulatory passengers. No private bus or charter service can accommodate this many disabled individuals. We even offer special performances as you ride!

HAI Art Studio and The Gallery at HAI
HAI Art Studio
Thriving since 1994, HAI’s in-house art studio in Long Island City, Queens, is a gathering place for artists who are living with mental illness and developmental disabilities. Participants develop their craft and express personal struggle and ideas in a variety of media. Studio sessions and art materials are provided free and are offered on Monday and Thursday afternoons and Saturdays all day. Professional artists are available to assist. A computer lab equipped with imaging and video editing software gives participants the chance to explore digital art and develop technological skills. In addition to artistic growth, the HAI Art Studio provides exhibition opportunities.
The Gallery at HAI
The gallery is next door to our administrative offices in Long Island City, Queens, and hosts four shows annually, and features works by self-taught artists with mental disabilities. The Gallery at HAI is valued among collectors for its high quality, exciting exhibitions, featuring Outsider Art, site-specific, gallery-altering pieces, and high creative energy. Works from HAI artists can be found in prestigious collections including the American Folk Art Museum in NYC, the Brooklyn Museum, Collection d’Art Brut in Lausanne, the Museum of Everything in London.
