HAI - Transforming lives through the arts

The Respect Project cast performs at HAI. This high energy event was organized for youth from four NYC schools who participated in DYCD-funded after school programs-all part of the Prevention Education Program.
Available for rent, Omni*Buses are specially adapted to accommodate people of all needs. Each rental includes monitors who courteously assist those in wheelchairs and the frail ambulatory.
Each Saturday, adults with mental illness come to HAI's loft to create works of art that are exhibited in the Gallery at HAI. The HAI Art Studio emphasizes rehabilitation through the practice of art.
HAI's Summer Program patrons attend The Merchant of Venice at The Delacorte Theater in Central Park - part of The Public Theater's Shakespeare in the Park festival.
Fifth Graders from NYC Public School 50 in Staten Island work with HAI Prevention Education facilitators during a conflict resolution workshop.
HAI artists and staff greet guests at the opening gala of the Face to Face exhibition at HAI’s loft in Soho. The Gallery at HAI is internationally recognized as one of the premier venues to see outsider art.

HAI inspires healing, growth and learning through access to the arts for the culturally underserved. HAI provides cultural access through music, dance, theater and the visual arts, reaching out to the frail elderly, mentally and physically disabled, seriously ill children at health and social service facilities and youth in grades K - 12.
